Changing your looks
Skin colour and gender: If you are looking to change your skin
colour or your gender, it's the Make Over Mage (MOM for short) you
will need to give a visit. He is located south-west of Falador. He
will charge you 3,000 coins to change your appearance.
Hair and beard: If you want a new fancy haircut, a nice smooth shave
(he can make your beard grow as well!), or a new hair colour, you
will need to jump by the Hairdresser in his shop in north-west
Falador. He will charge you 2,000 coins to change your appearance.
Clothes: If you want some different clothes, you need to drop by
Thessalia in Varrock (her store is in the south-west corner of the
market place.) She will charge you 500 coins to change your top and
another 500 to get your legwear changed. To change your boots visit
the Fremennik taylor Yrsa on the west side of Relleka for 500
coins(members only).
Getting started with your skills
Here you will find a few tips on how to start the different skills.
If you want more information, click the name of the skill, and you
will be transferred to the Tip.It guide about that skill.
Free Version (F2P) Skills:
Combat: (Attack, strength, defence and hits): What can I say...?
Just fight low levelled monsters and you will get better in the
different skills depending on your fighting mode. There are many
good places to begin training around Lumbridge - chicken farms, cow
fields and forests full of level 2 and 5 goblins.
Ranged: To begin ranging, you'll need a bow and some arrows.
Unfortunately, these can be costly. When you get yourself some
money, go have a chat with Lowe in the Varrock Ranged store. Buy
what you need and find some monsters to range at. We recommend that
you start your ranging in Lumbridge against goblins or chickens.
Prayer: There's not much to say about this skill, just pick up all
the bones you see on the ground, and choose 'bury' when you have
them in your inventory. Prayer will help protect you when you're
fighting.
Magic: To start with you will need some runes (again, costly, but
there are various spawn points around RuneScape where you can get
them for free.) Once you have the runes to cast some of the lower
level spells, go to the magic part of your control panel and choose
the spell you want to cast, after that just click on a monster.
Runecrafting: To start this skill you need to do the Rune Mysteries
Quest. After that you just mine some rune essences and make air
runes.
Crafting: To begin in this skill, you should make pottery. If you
have completed the Prince Ali Rescue Quest then it makes it much
cheaper to make leather in Lumbridge and Al-Kharid.
Mining / Smithing: Not much to say here. You can mine tin and copper
in the South-East Varrock mine, deposit them in your bank in Varrock.
When you decide you have enough ores, go to Al-Kharid and smelt them
into bars, once you've got that done, head back to Varrock and get
metal-bashing! For a complete list of all RuneScape Mining sites,
visit our Mining Sites page.
Fishing / Cooking: To begin fishing, you'll need a net, and then
just go to a sea and start clicking. It's useful if there's a tree
nearby, because if you take your axe and tinderbox then you can
raise your cooking at the same time. If you just want to raise your
cooking, then go to a chicken farm and train combat, prayer and
cooking at the same time!
Firemaking / Woodcutting: To start these skills, simply go to the
forest between Lumbridge and Draynor. Get yourself an axe (you can
buy this in south Lumbridge from Bob), and a tinderbox (general
store). Chop down some trees, and choose 'Light log' when you have
the log from the tree in your inventory.
Member Only (P2P) Skills:
Agility: Agility is a members only skill that allows you to swing
across rope swings, scramble over rock slides, squeeze through pipes
and more. Using agility you can access secret areas or make use of
shortcuts. To train this skill there are many different obstacle
courses where you repeat laps around the course to gain agility xp.
Each individual obstacle gives a certain amount of xp, and by going
through the obstacles in the correct order you gain a bonus amount
of xp.
Farming: Erm, kind of self-explanatory, this one. Use your farming
skill to grow your own food, flowers, trees and more.
Slayer: Slayer is requesting and receiving an assignment to kill a
certain number of a specific kind of monster from a Slayer Master.
The assignments can vary from 10 spiders to 200 iron dragons, and
will depend on which Slayer Master you choose to work for.
Thieving: Tired of trying to make enough money to get the items you
want? Well, there is another way...thieving. Yes, if you put your
morals aside, you can pick pockets and pick locks to get your hands
on the loot you crave. Simple. Just be careful that you don't get
caught! If you do, you'll be hit on the the head by the person
you're trying to steal from! |
